Big World Magazine, a new online magazine about travel and culture, seeks stories, photo essays and multimedia about voyages, ideas, food, people, festivals and trends. We’re interested in powerful narratives, provocative profiles, reported stories, investigative work, and photos, video and audio that evoke a sense of place. No service, please.

This is unpaid, but pays 50 percent of any syndication fees, and a correspondent’s listing circulated to many other assigning editors.

Interns will be receiving school credit and may be current undergraduate or graduate students, or recent graduates of no more than a year.

Candidates will be considered for positions that are fast-paced and research heavy to support the ambitious multi-layered features that advance our reporting. Good writing and reporting skills are necessary. Interns leave with experience of working in a daily newsroom and several bylined articles.

Past interns have worked on stories and lists such as the technology of wind energy; the world’s least and most patriotic countries, the politics of the G8 Summit, and the Forbes list of top-producing American colleges.

We are interested in someone who can work approximately 20 hours a week. This is a for-credit internship program and is for the full semester.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will be a talented writing student who is an enthusiastic self-starter with good communication and writing skills. Must be organized and able to work within deadlines.

Approximate Start Date is September 14, 2009. Internships will last the duration of the fall semester. Time commitment is approximately 15-20 hours per week.

The intern must be a current student enrolled in a degree program AND, if selected, must submit one of the following before the first day of work:

• documentation showing that academic credit is being received (i.e. a copy of the course registration) OR
• a letter from a professor, department head, sponsor or academic advisor stating that the internship significantly contributes to the student’s current degree program OR
• a letter from the school stating that the internship is part of a work-study or independent study program.

We’re interested in students who are fashion forward, detail oriented, prompt and willing to work hard. Interns will learn how to write/ demonstrate (via video) product reviews and fashion features as well as be asked to come up with larger package ideas. They will also learn how to deliver quality content to an online audience. This is not a tech-heavy position, but more creative and editorially based. Those selected will see their work published on Fashionwithfifi.com almost immediately. Interns will be exposed to the exciting world of online journalism. Some administrative duties will be required. Youtube, fashion/ beauty writing or blogging experience is a plus.

1. Researching fashion and beauty trends, conducting product reviews, writing columns/ articles, weekly blogging/ vlogging, marketing/ promoting and executing basic administrative duties.

Requirements

1. All internships are on a part-time basis and can be for college credit (unpaid). Graduates and those who aren’t in school are urged to apply. No stipend will be provided, however there’s great perk potential.

This position will keep you entertained between Mon-Fri for about an hour.
Updating and writing articles (less than 250 words each) daily, with the
possibility of a weekend article.

Experience is a plus. Writers will receive a byline, credit and a personal
bio page.

In search of a motivated, responsible, web-savvy who is either in sophomore, junior, or senior standing or in a graduate program for an internship at iVillage.com (an NBC/Universal company) in the pregnancy and parenting channel.
